This is our 38th post in the Infinity Hash Weekly Update series for Apr 22, 2024.

This week, we added a lot of new miners and successfully got through the 2024 halving, which included reducing our electricity price to USD 0.049 per kWh. Mining profits for Infinity Hash went up a lot with no downtime, and the share price for IHS went up.

You can always get a full overview of past charts and numbers on the Weekly Updates page.

Dashboard and Feature Updates

We are currently still working on five dashboard updates in the background:

  • Finishing the community voting function
  • Cheaper BTC withdrawals and BTC Lightning withdrawals
  • Design and mobile UX improvements
  • Statistics page with improved tax export
  • Improved swap feature

We think we’ll be able to finish two of those updates by next week.

Miner and Farm Updates

This week, we added 103 new miners, increasing the community pool hash rate by 13,363 TH/s (the total hashrate increase in the Infinity Hash in numbers section above might display a bit less of an increase, because some miners are still booting and need a bit of time to reach the actual hashrate stated by the manufacturer).

New Miners added to Infinity Hash from 2024-04-15 to 2024-04-21.

Cleaning of miners and containers

Cleaning miners from dust is important to keep them running efficiently and increase their lifespan. This week we did some regular maintenance cleaning, which is done about once a month based on air quality and how much dust gets through the filters on the air intake side of the containers.

Installing new miners

With most of the bigger China batches arriving just in time for the halving, our guys at the farm had to work a bit of overtime to install all the new miners and get them online as soon as possible. After initial installation, they also cut the appropriate holes into the plastic layer, separating the hot and cold zones inside the containers.

Summer preparations: fencing off transformer areas

To avoid overheating the transformers, we decided to fence off the hot zone created by the air exhaust side of the containers from our transformers. This will improve the reliability of the whole facility with the now-rising temperatures and prepare us for summer.

Fixing overheating bus bars

We found that some bus bars on the output side of a transformer were overheating and decided to install double bus bars as a temporary solution. This increased the carrying capacity of the installation and allowed us to minimize the downtime caused by the problem. The bus bars will soon be replaced with ones made of copper to prevent overheating and corrosion problems in the future.

Last-minute halving preparations

On the last day before the halving, we did nothing else but install new miners and switching them on. Current 20-foot containers hold 144 air-cooled miners with appropriate PSUs each.

Maintenance and Downtime

On April 15th, we cleaned some containers and miners, so part of the equipment was offline shortly. On April 18th, there was a short downtime of about 20 minutes due to minor work on the power line. The total uptime for this week was 98%.

Announcements

Once again, we want to inform everyone about the upcoming first dashboard community vote. The first vote will be on deciding on a first step for the marketplace fee when selling shares. Check the previous weekly update for more details.

Links and Outlook

Outlook and Mining Forecast

With over 100 new miners installed and more on the way, we think we will be able to get through the halving and the coming months without any major problems and are going to achieve our goal of increasing the hashrate per Infinity Hash share to at least 90 GH/s. This should result in a long-term share price of at least $4.50, but of course we can’t promise any actual prices, and this is just a rough estimation based on current external factors.

Important: Make sure to check the info below the share price calculator in case you still have open questions on how the share price for new shares is calculated.

Weather conditions

The current weather conditions at the mining farm are: Passing clouds. Cool. Current temperatures at 14.75°C / 58.55°F provide good cooling conditions with the weather forecast showing an upward trend in temperatures. This should result in stable profits.
